Ford Diesel and Gas Engines
Ford offers a 6.7L PowerStroke® Turbo Diesel V8 and the 6.8L Triton®gas V10. Both engines are teamed with the TorqShift® HD 6-speed automatic transmission and are Built Ford Tough® .
Ford TorqShift® HD 6-Speed Automatic Transmission
The TorqShift® HD 6-speed automatic transmission easily handles the heavy torque of the diesel and gas engines. The SelectShift® feature has two modes: Progressive Range Select to lock out overdrive, plus Full Manual control. The Tow/Haul feature minimizes gear hunting on an uphill; on a downhill, it help prevent upshifting and an increase in speed, and helps reduce brake pressure. TorqShift offers available live-drive power takeoff provision with stationary and mobile modes.
Available Live-Drive Power Takeoff Provision with Mobile Mode
The Ford TorqShift® HD 6-speed automatic transmission with available Live-Drive Power Takeoff (PTO) Provision* includes stationary and mobile modes for diesel and gas engines. An output gear connects directly to the engine crankshaft to power the PTO anytime the engine is running, whether the truck is moving or stopped. “Split-shaft” capability (diesel only) allows multiple accessories to be operated at the same time.
Clean, Easy Upfitting
F-650/F-750 trucks feature a work-ready frame developed with leading upfitters to accommodate most vocational bodies while requiring few or no modifications. This collaboration resulted in components such as fuel tanks, wiring harnesses and diesel exhaust fluid reservoirs which are located under the cab instead of behind it on the frame. Choose from 36 standard clean CA offerings (13 Regular Cab, 12 SuperCab, 11 Crew Cab combinations) ranging from 72 to 207 inches (1,829 to 5,258 mm). Ford F-650/F-750 chassis have a standard 34-inch (864 mm) frame width for easy upfitting with any combination.
Wide GVWR Range
Operating cost effectively demands that you spec your truck to meet the exact job requirements. That’s why Ford Medium Duty trucks are available in GVWRs ranging from 20,500 lbs. (9,299 kg) with the F-650 Pro Loader® and going as high as 37,000 lbs. (16,783 kg) with the 6.7L Power Stroke® turbo diesel-powered F-750.20
