Chevrolet Volt

With Volt’s advanced electric drive system backed up by a range-extending gasoline-powered generator, you can go wherever you want, whenever you want. It’s a kind of freedom that other electric car drivers can only dream about.

With Volt’s unique Voltec electric propulsion system, you can travel up to 61 km on battery power alone. Then the onboard gas-powered generator kicks in seamlessly to provide additional electriclty, so you can drive a total of up to 611 km on a full charge and a full tank of gas. As far as operating on pure electric power, the Volt’s combined city/highway range is 61 kilometres (based on Transport Canada approved consumption value). If that is your daily commute, and at an average hydro cost of 12 cents per kilowatt hour, your daily energy cost would be $1.57. The bottom line? Volt is the only electric car that can really go the distance. No wonder it was one of Strategic Vision’s 2013 Total Quality AwardTM award winners.
